BOURASSA, Joseph Gilbert

January 19, 1942 – March 7, 2013
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Joseph Gilbert Bourassa at the Southwood Care Hospice, Calgary, AB on March 7, 2013. Joe crossed over peacefully while being held in the arms of his loving wife, Arlene Eddy and being sang to by his Brother-in-law Denny.
Joe was born and raised in and around Lebret, SK in the Qu’Appelle Valley. He served with the P.P.C.L.I. prior to making his home in Calgary, AB. He was a Sheet Metal worker until he retired at age 50 and at that time he became a Professional Driver (transport) until age 69. Joe loved all sports – especially golfing. Most of all, Joe loved his family and many, many friends.
He is survived by his wife Arlene; Daughters: Denise Elizabeth Phillips (Jason); Grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Jessie and Logan.
Shelley MacDonald and Lisa Larsen, Grandchildren: Andy, Marcus and Tyson.
Step-sons: DJ Eddy (Debbie); Grandchildren: Melissa-Kay, Tyler, Jennifer, Amber and Nick.
Kurt Smith (Nicole); Grandchildren: Hunter Rose and Clairisse.
Joe is also survived by two Brothers: (Norman) Eli (Sherry) and Elfie;
Brother-in-law Denny Eddy (Beverley) and many nieces and nephews.
Joe was predeceased by his Parents: Jules and Marguerite (Flammand) Bourassa;
Brothers: Louis (Bernadette), Mike (Ann) and James Bourassa;
Sisters: Roseadel Racette (Jack) and Margaret Desjarlais (George);
Brothers-in-law: Rod Eddy and Darby Eddy.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful caregivers at the Southwood Hospice.
Cremation has taken place and there will be a graveside service in the spring.
