BOUDY, Richard Edward (Rico)
March 13, 1957 – December 15, 2011
Rico Boudy, formerly of Ruthilda, SK, passed away peacefully and with dignity at his home in Calgary on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at the age of 54 years.
Rico is survived by his loving wife Colleen Boudy (nee Ambrock) of 17 years; his mother Rose (Bill) Oesch of Ruthilda, SK; siblings Rita (Bob) Salmen of Cranbrook, BC (Ashley, Amanda, Amy); William (Carrie) Boudy of Rollyview, AB (Faith); Barbara (David) Glackin of Wilkie, SK (Katrina and Jamie); Uncle Hank (Sharon) Vodarek of Okanagan Falls, BC, also numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Rico was predeceased by his father Edward Boudy in 1986 and both sets of grandparents.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. Dear Rose:
I was saddened to see Rick’s obituary in today’s Edm Journal. I was unaware that he had been ill – but happy to read that he died peacefully at his home.
I have many happy memories of ‘Rico’ who I met through my cousin Pam.

I am so sorry to hear about Rick. Rick was always a fun loving character and will be missed by all who knew him. As Rose knows I grew up with Rick only living a few miles away. Most of my memories are from the earlier years.Rose, Rick loved you very much. In the last several years I had an opportunity to see Rick at Leah McDonald’s 50th Birthday party in Regina and then again at Margaret Hamilton’s celebration of her life.
Colleen I know I have met you in the past but did not know you. Time always heals and remember all of the special and good times you had with Rick.

We were saddened by the news of Rick’s passing. We both went to school in Plenty with Rick. Marty was in his grade from 1 thru 12 in Plenty, and Wendy (Rosset) is from nearby Kelfield.

My heartfelt cololences to the Boudy family and to all his friends. I am very saddened to learn of his passing. I worked with Richard for a few years in Norman Wells. He was so much fun and always had a way of making the most of any of the situations we were involved with. His joy of living and no holds barred attitude made him so special to so many people. I am truly glad that he was able to come to my 50th birthday celebration (and his).
