BOSNAK, Barbara Lynn

August 10, 1937 – Lethbridge, Alberta
August 11, 2014 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with indescribable sadness we share the passing of our beloved mother, Nana, sister and friend on Monday, August 11, 2014 at the age of 77.

Barb is survived by her loving daughters Pamela (Ron), Kim, Robyn (Dean), her grandchildren Michael and Danielle Wenzlawe and Taylor and Nicole Jensen. She is survived by her siblings Bonnie and Gary Kirk of Lethbridge. Barb is predeceased by her loving husband of 25 years John Bosnak, her parents William and Hazel Kirk and Barb’s dear friend and companion Eddie King.

Barb’s high school years proved to be of great significance as she met her best friend Donella and pursued her calling in health care. Barb was the heart of the Bosnak household ensuring it was a safe harbor to anyone who needed a cup of coffee or an understanding ear. She devoted much of her time with her children and grandchildren sharing her love of music, dance, travel and chocolate ice cream.

Our family would like to extend gratitude and appreciation to everyone who invested care and comfort at various facilities over the last three months. A heartfelt thank you to the angels at Rosedale Hospice whose unreserved compassion, dignity and grace ensured Barb remained comfortable and respected.

A Celebration of Barb’s Life is to be held at a later date. Condolences may be forwarded through If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Rosedale Hospice #1245 – 70 Avenue S.E., Calgary, AB T2H 2X8, Telephone: (403) 284 – 5195.

I am so sorry for your loss. While your Mum and I haven’t kept in touch in the last few years we did spend a lot of time together when we were younger. I remember our good times together and hope you will find consolation in remembering your good times with her.

It is with deep sadness we learned of Barb’s passing. We have had great family occasions with the Bosnak family and Stevens family in Picture Butte, where we got to know the Bosnak family. Barb was a happy go lucky lady who loved her family very much. To Pamela Kim and Robyn, spouses and their children our sincere condolences.
You are all in our thoughts and prayers.
