Mike Bojechko of Calgary passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at the age of 76 years.
Mike was born on October 20, 1928 in Swika, Kalusz, Poland and immigrated to Canada with his family in September 1929. Mike grew up in High Prairie, AB, eventually settling in Calgary to complete his post secondary education as an Electronics/Radio Technician and begin his career in the same field.
Mike had many loves including music, dancing, camping, electronics and two- way radios (VE6QO). He was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion (Branch 264) but will be remembered most for his tireless contribution as a volunteer to the Banff Trail Community Association where he held various position on the Board of Directors since the association was established fifty years ago.
Mike was predeceased by his parents John and Rose Bojechko as well as his wife of forty-three years Joanne Bojechko. He is survived by his brother Eugene (Dorothy) Bojechko of Trail, BC; sister Helen (Charlie) Chernoff of Houston TX; daughter Dianne (Terry) Tate of Williams Lake, BC; as well as son Ron (Tracy) Bojechko; daughter Lori (Steve) Frank; and special companion Doreen Hammond, all of Calgary. Mike also leaves behind six grandchildren, Veronica, Randy, Christopher, Kevin, Katelyn and Emma who adored him and will miss him dearly.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Tuesday, January 18, 2005 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
