September 28, 2013 – Calgary, Alberta
Ellen Marie Blacklock, beloved daughter of Louise Blacklock (nee Schmaltz) (Larry Corneil) passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the age of 50 years.
Born in Southwest Calgary in 1963, Ellen graduated from St. Mary’s High School and Mount Royal College. Ellen loved spending time with friends here and at their summer retreats at Wasa Lake. Ellen, like her sister, shared a passion for rescue animals. She had a warm heart, a big smile and was taken too soon.
Besides her mother Louise and Larry, Ellen is survived by her siblings, Anne (Pat) Murtha, Rob Blacklock, Cheryl Moir, Debbie Blacklock, and Lynn (Brad) Barthelette; nieces and nephews, Adam (Bridget) Murtha, Justin Moir, Chelsea Moir, Riley Murtha, and Allysha Barthelette; three aunts; one uncle; and numerous cousins.
She was predeceased by her father Earl.
Softly the leaves of memory fall.
Gently we gather and treasure them all. Unseen, unheard, she is ever near, Forever loved, forever missed, and oh so dear.
Please God, forgive a silent tear, the constant wish that she were here.
Others are taken, yes we know, but she was ours and we miss her so.
