Sharon Fay Black Rider of Siksika Nation went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 9, 2013 at the age of 45 years.
Sharon was born in Calgary and attended St. Mary’s High School. Her biggest passions were collecting rocks and reading her Bible. She made her cursillo in June, 1992 at Siksika Nation. She was kind, big-hearted and helpful to all, especially to all her nieces and nephews. She was survived by her father Dennis Blackrider Sr.
Near and dear to her heart were her four precious children, Candice (Dallas), Krissy, Kobe, and Alicia; her siblings, Katie, Denise (James), Dennis (Trudy), Quinn (Julia), Clayton (Shannon), Tracy, Byron (Jamye), Georgette (Rick), Radford (Sandra), Shirley (Wayne), Sid (Darilyn), Stephanie (Aaron), Jenny (Harley); she was raised by a special aunt Myrtle and the late George Good Eagle; and two aunts Alma Youngman, and Isabel Olivier. She will also be lovingly remembered by the Crow Chiefs, Black Riders, Back Fats, Wolf Childs, Oliviers, Pretty Youngmans, Sitting Eagles, Calf Robes, Ayoungmans, First Riders, Low Horns, Rabbit Carriers, and Black Kettles. She was predeceased by her children Kelsey, Cori and Kayla Youngman; mother Delphine Black Rider; and grandparents George and Delores Crow Chief and Katie and Joseph Black Rider.
Wake Services will be held at the residence of Sharon Black Rider (Siksika Nation, AB) on Sunday, August 18, 2013.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Catholic Church (Siksika Nation, AB) on Monday, August 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Little Washington Cemetery. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
