Black, Lorna Miriam

Lorna Miriam Black passed away at the Foothills Medical Centre on Sunday, February 15, 2009 at the age of 83 years after a battle with lung cancer. Lorna was born in Shellbrook, SK in 1925. Her career included being; chief accountant at the Prince Albert Airport and field auditor in Northern Saskatchewan, obtaining a B.Com. degree from the University of Saskatchewan, auditing for the Federal Income Tax department, instructing accounting for AVC and establishing a private company, Blackwells Office Services. Lorna was a member of the Golden Links Rebeccah Lodge # 6 and had served as Noble Grand. Lorna is survived by two sisters; Doris Landry and Irma Hodgins; a brother, Reginald; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Wm. H. and Ethel Black; two sisters, Hazel Rindal and Ida Stalwick; three brothers, Kenneth, Thomas and Manley and two nephews a niece and a great-great nephew. Memorial services will be celebrated at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.) on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
