Ginny Bisschop beloved wife of John Bisschop of Airdrie, AB passed away on Monday, June 17, 2013 at the age of 73 years.

Ginny was born on January 5, 1940 in Nordegg, AB to parents Francesco and Sarafina Vecchio. After spending fifteen memorable years of her childhood in Nordegg, AB the family moved to Calgary, AB in January of 1955 after the closure of the Brazeau Collieries Limited Mines. Ginny attended ST. Anne and ST. Mary’s Catholic Schools then furthered her education while attending Mount Royal College. Ginny chose to purse a career filled with success, satisfaction, great sense of pride and outstanding accomplishments throughout the years. Ginny was a proud employee with the Bank of Montreal full time for sixteen years and part time for four years. On June 1, 1963 in Calgary, AB John and Ginny were married and for the next fifty years the love they shared grew stronger with each passing day allowing them to build a lifetime of special memories while enjoying each others company.

John has expressed a special thank you for all the support, kindness, help and love that was given and received during this difficult year from numerous caring family and friends. To his sister Johanna (Lloyd) Hauer; his niece Virginia Lee-Anne (Howie) Anderson and his brother Bill and sister-in-law Jean Bisschop without your continual support I would have been lost during this hard time but thankfully Ginny and I were blessed and fortunate to have the love of our family.
Ginny is survived by her loving husband and best friend of fifty years John Bisschop; her sisters Nora Rogers of Grande Cashe, AB and Cathy (Frank) Martens of Comox, BC.
Ginny was predeceased by her parents Francesco and Sarafina Vecchio; her brothers John, Fred, Ralph, and Joe all of Calgary, AB; and her sister Rose (Jack) Owchar from Thunder Bay, ON.
At Ginny’s request a funeral service will not be held. Condolences may be forwarded through .
