  2. Marian Burke :

To Pat and family: The world is now poorer for having lost such a pure, kind, wonderful man. It’s over 40 years since I worked with Vern (and attended Great Plains parties with the both of you) and, although I’ve not seen either of you for years, you have remained in my memory as one of the finest couples I’ve ever met. Vern was unfailingly pleasant, fair, ethical–I could go on forever with the adjectives. I literally cannot picture him without a warm smile on his face. May your memories carry you through this difficult time and know that he was loved and admired by many. My prayers are with you.

    Sincerely, Marian Burke

  5. Pat; I was very sorry to hear of “Tiny’s” passing and offer my sincere condolences. I fully intended to attend today’s service gathering but unfortunately suffered a concusion and am not yet very steady on my feet. Vern was a great friend in our youth and we shared some great memories. I looked forward to meeting you and some of the old gang at the gathering. Vic
