BIG PLUME, Carl Tli K’aa Ku ni Dzaay’I tla (One Rides Into Camp)

November 25, 1945 – September 27, 2012

Carl Big Plume was born on the Tsuu T’ina Reserve to Stanley and Louise Big Plume.

Carl was the beloved father of Karen Russell (Carl Potter), Curtis Big Plume (Lisa), Dallas Big Plume, Kelly Little Light, Carleen Big Plume and Tiarra Big Plume, and common-law partner Wilma Healy. He was blessed with many grandchildren Austin, Curtis Jr., Latesha, Talia, Marissa, Marcel, Daniel, Sara, Pavel, Ace , Kadrian and two precious great granddaughters Tanaizah and Violet. Carls siblings include Clifford Big Plume (Vanora), Barbara Otter, Marie Wadsworth (Winston), Victoria Jacobs, Margaret Big Plume, Theresa Big Plume and Kurt Hill, special nieces Sophia Otter and Lisa Big Plume and step children Dean, Terry, Wanda, Tyson, Trinity, Tristan, Jolaine, Lurlene, Kayla and Kara. Carl joins his many family and ancestors; Carl’s first wife, Arlene Rachel Jacobs and daughter Sherri Dawn; his parents Stanley and Louise Big Plume; grandparents Joe and Mary Bull Collar , Peter and Sara Big Plume; his siblings Pearl, Lily, and Barry. Carl attended Sarcee Day School, St. Mary’s School and Mic Mac Rez Exchange. He also attended Mount Royal University, U of A Linguistic and Security Training. He was a Tsuu T’ina band council member from 1978-1982. Carl had a love of rodeos, horses and was a member of AQHA. His past times were horse racing and his Poplar Bluff Tree Nursery, as well as he took pride in taking care of his son Dallas, and raising his daughters Tia and Carleen. He also loved spending time with his many grandchildren.

Wake Services will be held at the family residence of the late Carl Big Plume on Saturday September 29, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, September 30, 2012 at 5:00 p.m.

Funeral Service will be celebrated at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Tsuu T’ina Nation, AB on Monday October 1, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Big Plume Cemetery. Feast to follow at Sarcee Seven Chiefs Sportsplex Forward condolences through
