Big Eye-Storm, Rory Allan (Onistaya’Kao’Pi)

It is with great sadness our family has lost our dear brother, Rory.  He will be remembered for his great kindness, generosity and compassion, especially for the homeless, while he lived in Calgary. Rory attended Drumheller High School. He also worked hard and became a licensed hairstylist and graduated from the Personnel Care Attendant Program and worked at the Siksika Elders’ Lodge. Rory is survived by his long time companion and caregiver of twenty years Mr. Ron Laselle; his brothers, Jim (Joan) Munro, Gregory Big Eye, Greg Thompson (Angela), Maurice Big Eye, Gildas Storm (Mel) and Warren Winnipeg; his sisters, Julianna Burke, Theresa Big Eye (Ron), Yvonne Black,  Beatrice Big Crow, Jackie Storm (Eric), Adeline Storm (Jim), Lyanna Storm (Kevin), Beatrice Big Eye, Marie Big Eye, and Clifford Big Eye; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his loving foster family the McCue’s; parents Katie Robert, brothers and sisters Robert, Susan, David, Carol and Richard; adoptive family, the Crow Chiefs; Romeo, Ann Marie, Lillian, Daphne, Buster, Wilda, Marcia, Glenn, Bob, Jason, Benny and their families; as well as the Medicine Shield, Solway, Running Rabbit, Duck Chief, Bull Shield, Running Bird and Big Snake families; as well as Irene Bull Bear and Helen Medicine Traveller. Rory was predeceased by his father Jack Big Eye and his mother Maggie Storm; his sisters, Gladys Big Crow, Lorraine Storm, Gail Rabbit Carrier, Rhonda Storm, and Michelle Storm; and his brothers, Rusty Big Eye, Clarence James Big Eye, and Harlon Grant Storm; auntie Nancy Melting Tallow; nephew Andre Big Eye, and buddy Bill Burke. We are very sorry if we have missed anyone. Relatives and friends are invited to Wake Services at the Residence of Julianna Burke (Siksika Nation, AB) on Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at Holy Trinity Catholic Church (Siksika Nation, AB), on Thursday, August 7, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow atCrowfoot Cemetery. Forward condolences through Special thanks to the doctors and nurses on Units 42 and 51 at the Peter Lougheed Centre. In living memory of Rory Big Eye – Storm a tree will be planted at Siksika Nation by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES Park Memorial Chapel, 5008 ELBOW DRIVE S.W. Telephone: (403) 243-8200.
