BERTIE – Mike

March 13, 1935 – January 28, 2010

Mike Bertie, beloved husband of Joyce, of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at the age of 74 years.

Mike was born and raised in Lethbridge, AB. He began his working career with AGT/Telus, retiring in 1991 after thirty-five years of service. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting.

Mike is survived by his loving wife, Joyce; son, Randy (Debbie) Bertie; daughter, Kim (Bill) Holowatiuk; and grandchildren, Brittini Mitran, Tyler and Shae-Lynn Bertie; as well as numerous extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Anne Aanestad.

A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.     I am saddened to see that Mike has moved on. I knew him in the years prior to his retirement at AGT. Always a decent and easy person to get along with. Our condolences to his family and especially to the grandchildren who likely still don’t understand.

    My memories of Mike will always be fond. I will cherish the times we spent together, the laughter we shared and the tenderness in Mike’s hand’s when he held Brittini for the first time.

    Sorry to hear about Mike’s passing. We worked together for several years in the eighties at the West garage work centre.
