Condolence Messages

  1. Georgette (Geo) Blair :

I was a member of the household when Shirley, Roy, Jordan, Steve, Lisa, Megan and Neige lived in Eagle Ridge. Life was never boring! Shirley, at the time worked at Food Services at the Stampede while running the household and schedules for everyone. She was a terrific organizer who, amazingly, found time to laugh, relax and include her kids in the important moments of the day. We enjoyed scrabble with Jim and Hal in the family room on the round table.

I ran into Paddy a few months ago and asked about Shirley and the family with the plan of calling to visit Shirley. Paddy gave me his card. I was to call. I lost the card. On impulse today, I called the catering company to learn that Shirley had passed just over a week ago. I did not get to visit with her although, she has been in my thoughts recently and that comforts me. At these times when loved ones leave, it is those left behind with bundles of memories to fill the space their presence held. Even though I have not seen Shirley or the “kids” for a long time, hearts were touched back then leaving indelability. I have such respect and admiration for the Woman. For, she was also a role model and heroine for me. I have bouquets of fond memories. I am richer for having known Shirley.
