January 4, 1922 – December 15, 2012
Shelly passed away just before his 91st birthday, surrounded by loved ones at the Foothills Country Hospice in Okotoks.
A lifelong Calgarian, he was born in Calgary to Gordon and Bernice, the third of five children. Shelly served overseas for five years in WWII with the Royal Canadian Signals. He worked for over 30 years with Palm Dairies and became an avid golfer in his golden years. He was quite a snowbird, enjoying the warm winter weather in Arizona. Taking his four legged friend, Emily, for long walks was one of his greatest pleasures.
Shelly is survived by his loving wife Anne (Kohler Moore); children, Dianne Lloyd (Norman) and Douglas Begg (Debra); grandchildren, Shannon Lloyd, Karen Lloyd and Tyler Begg; step-children, Heather Griffiths (Russell), Wendy Lutz, Rod Moore (Danae), and Carlene Winters (Eli); step-grandchildren, Kyle Martsinkiw, Kimberly Forrester, Jennifer Ward, Erin Goncalves, Adam Lutz, Clayton Moore, Chelsea Moore and Kevin Winters; and his eleven great-grandchildren. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Shelly was predeceased by his parents; first wife Hazel (Cassady); brother Stuart; and sisters, Maddy, Helen and Carole.
