Robert André Bedet, 71, of Calgary, Alberta, peacefully passed away on April 20th, 2012, at home in the company of his loving family.
Robert was born in Bandoeng, Java, Indonesia on January 30th, 1941. He graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with Honours in Mathematics in 1966. From the University of Waterloo, he received a Masters degree in Mathematics in 1968 and a Masters of Philosophy in Mathematics in 1973.
Robert was married to Lorraine (née Pidwerbecki) on July 2, 1966.
Robert worked in the computer industry for more than 30 years. He received his private pilot’s licence in 1998 and was keenly interested in all things aviation. He enjoyed spending time with family, and recently happily structured his life around home improvement projects and researching the family history.
Robert is survived by his wife Lorraine; four children, Rachel, Leonie, Ramsey, and Ashley; brother Wim Bedet; sister Bona Klap and the rest of his family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway’s Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at 10:30 a.m., with graveside service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Afterwards, a reception will be held at the Bedet family home. Memorial tributes may be made directly to the Nature Conservancy of Canada.
