BEARE – James Martin

May 4, 1926 – September 17, 2010

James (Jim) Beare passed away on Friday, September 17, 2010 at the age of 84 years.

He is survived by his wife Sue and sons Richard and Christopher, all of Calgary. He was predeceased by a brother Herbert and a sister Betty both of Northern Ireland and a sister Florence of Toronto. He is survived by his brother-in-law Cecil Arnold of Toronto and by numerous nieces and nephews in Northern Ireland and in Toronto. He graduated from the University of Toronto (B.Comm.) and obtained his Chartered Accountant designation in Ontario. In 1972 he was transferred to Calgary by his employer, Shell Canada Ltd. Upon his retirement in 1984, he became a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta and set up a tax and accounting practice which he continued until his death.   3. Dear Mrs. Beare ( Susan) and sons Richard and Chris:

    I was taken aback yesterday when I read of Jim’s passing but likewise have many fond memories and realize that you will also recognize the talent and humour your better half and father had.

    I can not be present with you during this time but please understand that I am present with you in thought and grief.

    Jim had ability and above that he was one very wise and considerate person. His “little” touches always reflected consideration and thoughtfulness.

    He was a learned man and yet he had the ability to explain the complex in terms a young person could relate to and understand.

    Jim was a gem of a person and I am sure you agree- the cast is now perhaps broken.

    Again, our deepest sympathies and I am with you in thought during this time.
