BAYNE, Stuart David

April 22, 1940– October 19, 2011

Stuart Bayne beloved husband of Gloria Bayne of Calgary passed away on October 19, 2011 at the age of 71 years.

Stu was born in Calgary where he lived until he passed away surrounded by his family after a brief battle with cancer. He attended Western Canada High School and S.A.I.T. Stu then became a manager at the York Hotel where he would meet Gloria. He then moved into sales with Meagher’s Distillery and Bacardi Rum. Before finally retiring, he worked at C.O.P. as a driver. Other times, he was happy to relax at the Horton Road Legion or as he fondly called it “The Club.” No matter where Stu went, he would find an old friend or make a new one.

He has left behind his wife of forty-three years, Gloria (nee Robertson), daughter Tania Bayne and granddaughter Gemma Bayne. Stu will also be greatly missed by his sister, Doreen Murray and family, many brothers and sisters-in-law and a multitude of nieces and nephews and friends.

Stu was predeceased by his parents David Bayne and Catherine Bayne (nee Petrie).

A Celebration of Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at 2:30p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.     Flower-strewn pathways all our lives through;
    God has not promised sun without the rain,
    Joy without sorrow,
    Peace without pain.

    But God has promised
    Strength for the day,
    Rest for the labor,
    Light for the way,
    Grace for the trials,
    Help from above,
    Unfailing sympathy and love.”

    We were so sorry to hear of Stu’s sudden passing. He was a delightfully friendly person. Jack and I really enjoyed visiting at dinner with you and Stu and Romelda at “Michelle’s Place” in Crossfield – only a few weeks ago. God’s last gift is the wonderful memories you all will have of your dear loved one. You are in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time.

  27. I was so sad to hear of Stu’s passing and disappointed that I only heard after the funneral. Like everyone else, Stu knew how to put a smile on everyone’s face plus squeeze a free meal or drink from them. I am sad that I won’t see those skinny little legs on the golf course. Know alot of people are reflecting on the loss of such a great friend.
