Basso, Emillia

Mamie Basso of Calgary passed away on August 7, 2008 at the age of 91 years. She was born in Pocahontas, AB into a large Italian family and was raised and lived in Cadomin, where she married Joseph Basso in 1935. They later lived in Wabamum and Taber, before retiring to Bellevue in 1965. Together they raised two children, Donna and Don, who now reside in Calgary. Mamie will be missed and remembered by Donna Coldham, Don and Stella Basso; her five grandchildren, Peter (Joanne) Coldham, Cathy (Bruce) Beveridge, Anne-Carol (Darcy) Basso, Joe Basso, and Bobbie (Andrew) Basso; as well as her nine great-grandchildren, Julie, Karen, Michelle, David, Allison, Todd, Miranda, Piper and Paige. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Basso, and her son-in-law, Pete Coldham. The family would like to thank the staff at Bowview Manor and Foothills Hospital, Unit 36, for their care of our beloved "Nona". A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church (711 – 37th Street N.W.) on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at the Blairmore Catholic Cemetery (Blairmore, AB) on Wednesday, August 13, 2008. Forward condolences through In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the charity of the donor’s choice.
