Condolence Messages

  1. This is the third Christmas I have visited Tony’s old home on Holden Road. Each Christmas I have taken my usual card and gifts and rang Tony’s bell, either Christmas Day or Boxing Day. As I had no answer in previous years, I assumed Tony was spending Christmas with Shirley, as he often did. The first year (2012) I emailed Tony to apologise for missing him. It was the greatest shock to me yesterday to get an answer from the new owners on Holden Road, who answered the door and told me they believed Tony had passed away. On my return home I found this obituary and was extremely saddened that I have not known about Tony’s passing for 2 1/2 yrs. My sincere condolences to Tony’s family and Shirley, Tony was the best neighbour one could have, I lived next door to him for many years, knew Hilda well and as I lived alone for 2 years with my son, could not have survived without Tony’s willingness to help me with any difficult situation. He will always be remembered with much affection.
