June 5, 1940 – April 18, 2013
(John) Keith Barbour, beloved husband of Marilyn, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at the age of 72 years.
Keith was born in Vanguard, Saskatchewan to Archie and Muriel Barbour. The family settled in Cowley, Alberta and he attended high school in Lundbreck after which he worked in the oilfields as a welder and mechanic. In the early 1970’s he became involved in the Materials Handling business and eventually owned and operated Western Materials Handling & Equipment Ltd. in Calgary for many years along with his partner and good friend, Kirk Hudson. In 1996, he sold the company and retired with Marilyn to Cochrane.
Keith was a “jack of all trades” and he mastered them all. He was never too busy to lend a hand to any and all in need. He enjoyed ‘puttering’ in the yard, wood-working and travelling. He and Marilyn enjoyed many wonderful trips over the years.
He will be forever remembered lovingly by his wife Marilyn; his daughters Traci (Mitchell) George and Shana (John) Welsh; his beloved and cherished grandchildren Miranda and Gavin George and Mairenn and Darian Welsh; his beloved sister Lorene (Ed) Collins and his dear brother Dennis (Sharon) Barbour and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be fondly remembered and loved by all who knew him.
