BAKKER, Violet “Sharon”

April 27, 1944 – October 1, 2012

It is with a heavy heart, we announce the peaceful passing of Sharon Bakker after a long and courageous battle against breast cancer.

Sharon was born in Calgary, AB and lived in Hussar until 1956 then returned to Calgary. Sharon married Henry Bakker in 1988 and David Carnegie in 1964. Sharon was employed as a Legal Assistant for thirty years then Sara Consulting until 2010. Sharon will be remembered for her colourful personality, tenacity, determination and fashion.

Sharon is survived by her husband Henry of twenty-four years; her daughters, Holly and Tracy (Eric); her grandchildren, Kaylee, Nickoli, Julia, Noah and Serena; her sister Dorothy Spaziani of Italy; her brother Joe Kelly of Kelowna; and a generous amount of dear friends. Sharon was predeceased by her parents Violet and Thomas Kelly; brothers, Ross and Herb; and sister Maureen Payne.

Memorial Services will be held at Prince of Faith Lutheran Church (2523 – 56 Street NE) on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
