BAIRD, Dorothy Mary (nee Ramey)

April 18, 1914 – March 12, 2012

Dorothy Baird of Calgary, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2012 at the age of 97 years.

Dorothy was born in Alsask, SK and moved to Winnipeg, MB as a young teen. She worked part time as a secretary at Charleswood United Church. She moved to Calgary in 1997 and spent many happy years at Trinity Lodge.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter Jane Hawkins; two granddaughters Jocelyn (Andrew) Zoller and Laura (Zak) Rathgeber; two great-grandsons Graham and Harrison Zoller, all of Calgary as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Art; son-in-law Barry Hawkins; and six brothers and sisters.

  2. Dear Jane,
    I was sorry to hear of Dorothy’s passing. She was such a kind person and I enjoyed her so muach when she was secretary at Charleswood. We used to laugh about the increase in technology here and years later after I had been Secretary for 23 yers Dorothy would have just shook her head with the changes. So many of our original members have gone and I miss them all.
    My thoughts and prayers are with you.
