    Dear Kate
People Always ask God :why you take the best people to you? And the Answer is … maybe they should be with him to balance the world … Dear Kate I knew you when I was 15 years old, a young girl, who came from Israel to visit Calgary with a band of Acre city. You Entertained me and treated me like I was your Israeli daughter during 24 years and since then we kept in touch over these years .. letters, internet and even in the Skype… we got to see each other and you look as the same I told you on the last call. So Dear Kate may you rest in peace and know that I’ll never forget you again, like we have not forgotten each other all these years … you will Always be in my heart ..
    Always love you..my angel
    Your Isaeli daughter xxoo

  4. Doreen Hindle :

    To husband Robert and Family,

So very sorry to hear the sad news. My nursing clasmates and I (UAH, Sept. 57) had Kay with us at our table at the UAH Alumni Dinner on May 17/11, and many dinners before that. She had been our Nursing Arts instructor and was loved by all, so kind and patient and with a (much needed) sense of humor. Prior to starting nursing training, and coming from a small town 100mi. away, I had decided I would be a REAL Nurse, and purchased a pair of required black shoes, but with a 2″ heel and much too narrow. The result was extremely painful feet, of which I relieved myself in Nursing Arts class with an ordinary pair of black loafers. A horrified look appeared on (Miss McKnight’s) face as she spied my shoes and a request to see her after class followed. When she heard my sad tale, she accompanied me down to Eaton’s to the shoe department, where she supervised the purchase of new shoes, plus a very stern lecture to the saleslady for fitting me so badly! How could I not love her?

    We shall miss her.
    Doreen Hindle,
    Calgary

The world will not be the same without our beloved Kay. She was our neighbour and friend for many years and she was everyone’s dream of a perfect neighbour- so helpful and kind. She was interested in our lives and she and Bob did so many kind and thoughtful things for us and other people on the street. Our hearts go out to her family.

  9. Edna King-Hunter :

Our dear Katie, she leaves a terible rift in our Class, we considered her our solid rock, who else to turn to with our troubles both major and silly? She was an eternal friend from the moment we all nervously entered the Nurses Residence in Sept. 1948. That’s a lot of memories we will cherish always. Of course Katie would have a remarkable family and a forever kind husband. She was so proud of you all. I send you my praise.

    Alison,

I am saddened to hear of your mom’s passing. I have fond memories of her.

She made a wonderful “Bailie Blanket” for Kate as a baby, that blanket was passed down to each of our 4 children. It is still a treasured item in our house today.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

    Love,
    Lara
