BAILEY, Herbert James

BAILEY, Herbert James

August 23, 1923 – Calgary   Alberta

September 27, 2014 – Calgary   Alberta

Herb, beloved husband of Marguerite of Calgary, passed away peacefully on Saturday September 27, 2014 at the age of 91 years.

Herb was a native Calgarian and proud veteran who joined the Air Force serving four years during World War II. Once the war was over and he was discharged, Herb married his sweetheart Marguerite. In 2014 they celebrated sixty-eight years together. Herb worked as a salesman with Crane Supply Calgary for forty years. He spent many a Monday night curling with the company’s team. Over the years Herb and Marg spent summers at Twin Lakes, Idaho and then travelled across Canada and into the United States in their RV. They also enjoyed trips to Europe and Asia before retirement.

Herb is survived by his loving wife Marguerite; children, Jim (Marilyn) and Kerri (Darryl); grandchildren, Joelene (Steven) and Scott (Jade); great-grandchildren, Breana and Sierra; and special brother-in-law Ed (Penny).

The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors of Unit 82 of the Foothills Medical Centre for their excellent care and Dr. Thorson and Dr. Humble for their care and concern over the years. We would also like to thank Home Care for their many years of assistance.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date. Condolences may be forwarded through

In living memory of Herb Bailey, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Chapel of the Bells, 2720 CENTRE STREET NORTH, Telephone: 403-276-2296.
