Condolence Messages

  1. Randy Gritter :

This is so sad. Wilf was such a good guy. Very bright and insightful, a deep thinker. We spent much time solving the world’s problems! He was a man of faith. He worked hard for the church and for the Knights. Somebody who provided much strong leadership over many years. I will miss him. May God grant his soul eternal rest.

    Chris and Family,

If only we could gather the right words to say to lessen the hurt and the sadness you feel and offer you some comfort…but we know that words cannot heal the pain of losing someone so dear to you. But we believe there is something that can…Memories. There is something rather magical in good memories.

Beyond all thoughts and opinions, beyond the sounds of silence, beyond all the todays and tomorrows, and beyond life itself, there is but one thing that remains…Memories!!

Wilf left behind great memories. His life made a mark so deep that it is impossible to forget him. His life touched everyone for good because his heart was good. It matters not whether one knew him a lifetime, or for a fleeting instant, he left his mark.

We hold in high esteem our memories of Wilf, and are thankful to have known him. We know that the storehouse of memories you hold of him will give you strength, and take you beyond the grief you feel to help you find the peace he would want for you to have.

So keep all those memories tucked close in your heart. Take them out from time to time to feel of his love for life and for you. Then tuck them back inside your heart for another time. In this way he will be with you forever.

Erik and I feel both happy and fortunate for having known Wilf. You were the “great neighbors” from “down the street”. Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

    Sincerely,
    Erik and Karen Quint

  6. Christine and Family,

My condolences to you and yours.

I feel blessed to have met Wilf, little over a year ago. The time was joyous, and he imparted much wisdom to myself as an emerging game designer.

Right away I knew I had encountered a great spirit, someone every bit as wonderful as the person described here, and more.

He will be missed by many in the gaming community. Even in his final years he continued to inspire, create and strengthen bonds between strangers, and welcomed any and all into his kind and gentle presence.

I’m grateful to have known him.

  10. I was deeply saddened to hear of the loss of such an upstanding individual. I met Wilf over one year ago now, and though I knew him for but a short time, his very brave and candid approach to his situation was inspiring. It is my deep regret that I did not have longer to get to know him, but I am very glad to have met him.

    Sincerely,

    Dylan Kirk

Christine: I was so sorry to hear the sad news of Wilf’s passing. I offered mass for him this morning and will remember both Wilf and you in my prayers. So many memories over the years of both of you fill my mind…of church and school, of work and leisure, and of watching our children grow up together in Camrose. 15. Andrew Creed :

Wilf is a great friend and colleague who inspired in me an entire PhD and a string of personal and professional insights that are still in development. Wilf’s intellectual and spiritual legacy continues and by virtue of the Internet and the love of friends and family (I can see him smiling) he will live on.

  16. I first met Wilf in the SCA where he became my friend and I became his squire. Christine once said we were as alike as one could imagine. I missed Wilf’s struggle, but he lives in my memory and what I am is in part due to his influence. I hope we meet again in the next life. Good journey.
