Urmila Aul of Calgary passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 17, 2005 at the age of 60 years.
Urmila was born on April 13, 1944 in Karachi, India. She taught English in middle school before marrying her beloved husband Pradeep and immigrating to England in the 1960s and then to Canada in 1974. Urmila was a pioneer in her family, becoming the first woman to work outside the home. Her true loves, however, were her husband and children. In her later years, she enjoyed helping others in any way she could; whether imparting her hard-earned wisdom about a healthy lifestyle or the importance of family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister and friend.
Urmila is survived by her loving daughters and sons-in-law, Madhu and Craig Saloff and their children, Megan and Ryan, and Monica and Aarnoud van Weelderen and their son, Jack. She is also survived by her loving sister and brother-in-law Usha and Kailash Chopra; Two brothers and one sister-in-law, Parmod Nagratha and Surinder and Vijya Nagratha and their families. Urmila was predeceased by her most beloved husband Pradeep; her parents; and her brother.
