ASTALOS – Mary (nee Vidra)

November 7, 1923 – November 17, 2009

Mary Astalos, beloved wife of Paul, mother and grandmother, passed away with her family at her side on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at the age of 86 years.

Mary was born in Ozora, Hungary and immigrated to Canada in 1935. Her greatest joy was cooking, baking and spending time with family and friends.

Mary is survived by her loving husband Paul of 63 years, daughters and sons-in-law Irene and Bob Bresnahan, Mary and Gerry Preston; grandsons Kevin Bresnahan and Scott Preston; brother Joe Vidra and numerous loving extended family. Mary was predeceased by her grandson Darren Bresnahan in 1991.

Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Monday, November 23, 2009 at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at St. Michael The Archangel Catholic Church (4718 Worcester Drive S.W.) on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at “Holy Family Cemetery” at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation, 2888 Shaganappi Trail N.W., Calgary, AB T3B 6A8, Telephone: (403) 955-8818.
