Ashton, Donald Frederick

September 2, 1943 – June 20, 2012

Don Ashton, beloved husband of Dorothy Ashton of Airdrie, passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at the age of 68 years.

Don was born and raised in Toronto, ON. He lived and worked in Ontario as a law clerk until retiring and moved to Airdrie in 2004.

Don is survived by his loving wife Dorothy; four daughters, Kathie (Doug) Peers, Dori (Doug) Wenzel, Theresa Richard and Kennetha Clay; and son Tim Ashton, sixteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a nephew Scott (Dawn) Ashton; a niece Kim Ashton; and great-nephew Daniel. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Dave Ashton.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 1305 Main Street, Airdrie, AB on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Airdrie Cemetery. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

  5. My sincerest thoughts and prayers are with your family. Mr. Ashton (as I always referred to him as) loved and treasured his family. I will always remember the many stories and anedotes that he shared with me. I will always remember the times when he came to the bank and sat with me and always said Pam you just do what you need to do and we shared our stories about what was best in our lives. He loved his coffee with cream and sugar. I will always remember you Mr. Ahston (Don ) with wonderful memories.Take great peace in knowing that Donald Ashton was a wonderful man.
