October 13, 1927 – June 26, 2014
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Concetta Arrotta, beloved wife of Salvatore Arrotta, at the age of 86 on Thursday, June 26, 2014.
Born in Albi, Catanzaro, Italy, she immigrated to Canada with her two young children to join her husband in Calgary in 1956. The greatest joy of her life was always spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed cooking her special meals that we all loved. She enjoyed several trips throughout her life traveling with her husband and many friends to Hawaii. They also made several trips back to their native Italy to visit with family. Concetta will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Besides her loving husband of sixty-two years, Concetta is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Rosa and Nello Serani; son Pat Arrotta; her sister Maria Corea; a brother and sister-in-law Nicola and Caterina Parrottino; four grandchildren, Nadia Scarpino (David Scarpino), Angela Serani (Dylan Martin), Reno Serani and Cort Arrotta (Jeannette Bastos); and great-grandson Evan Scarpino. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
