Armsworthy, Kristen “Misti” Dawn

Misti Dawn passed away in Calgary on Thursday, June 14, 2007 after a nineteen-year courageous battle with diabetes and its complications.

Born in Oromocto, NB, Misti graduated from Oromocto High School in 1992. Upon graduation, Misti accompanied her mom, dad, and brother to a posting in Calgary so she could attend U of C. She had, however, met her future husband in New Brunswick, so she decided to move back and they were married. From New Brunswick, Misti and husband, Scott, were posted to Shilo, MB. It was in Brandon that Misti gave birth to her two “miracle children” Shae-Leigh Wynter and Liam Christian Scott, both two months premature, again, due to complications caused by her diabetes. Shae and Liam were the very centre of Misti’s all too-short life.

Misti accompanied her husband back to Oromocto, NB before finally moving back to Calgary to be with her family. She moved to Didsbury four years ago and was planning to move back to Calgary to be closer to her family, but God had other plans.

Misti is survived by her children Shae and Liam; mother and father Larry and Christine McInnis; her “baby brother Shae” (Shaemus) and his wife, Kaylia; her best friend and loving companion Tim; twelve aunts; eleven uncles; and forty cousins. Misti was predeceased by her “Nanny” and “Packy” Newman; her Gramma and Grampa Devereaux; her grandfather McInnis; uncles Bill, Ron and Pat; and cousins Evelyn, Joey and Carol.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Thursday, June 21, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through If friends so desire, they may donate their time or money to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, #204, 1608 – 17 Avenue SW, Calgary, AB T2T 0E3 Telephone: (403) 255-7100,, or to the Canadian Diabetes Association, #204, 2323 – 32nd Ave. N.E., Calgary, AB T2E 6Z3 Telephone: (403) 266-0620,

  1. Thomas Pratt :

I’m sorry Misti passed away.I was told in 2007 by a friend of hers.I knew Misti from high school. She was in a class of mine in grade 12 & she sat in front of me at graduation in 1992.She lived down the road from me on Nevers Road & we both took the same bus to & from school. She was first in another class in grade 10 where I first knew of her.She sat at back of class with her friend Jennifer.
I didn’t talk with Misti much but knew of her.I remember my friend told me her first name think when we were in grade 12 after school while waiting for the bus & as soon as I said Kristen, she walked by saying yes lol. My friend told her he just told me her first name & if I remember right, think she said oh ok then proceeded onward.

I was shocked when her friend Jennifer told me on facebook in 2007 about this & I was still new at facebook at that that time.
So my condolences goes out to Misti & her family & kids & parents.

She was a kind person & never said nothing mean to me nor to anybody.
