ARMSTRONG, Margaret (Peggy) Emily

November 28, 1923– Southwick, Sussex, England
August 14, 2014 – Calgary, AB

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of our mother, grandmother “ Nanny” and great-grandmother Margaret “Peggy” Emily Armstrong on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at the age of 90 years.

Peggy is survived by her daughter Patricia (Bill) Mulley; granddaughters Shelda Fowler (Rick) and Leslie Erdahl (Justin); four great-grandsons, Justin, Chad, Jordon and Trevor; and extended family Ricky, Jenessa and Chaz Fowler. She was predeceased by her husband Robert William Armstrong in December of 2013.

Peggy and Bob travelled extensively with the military in their earlier days before settling in Calgary for fifty years. She worked for many years in retail and volunteered after she retired. Peggy loved cooking, crafting, and playing cards with her friends.

Our family will miss her very, very much.

    Dear Pat and Bill
    It was very sad when we read of your Mom’s passing in the paper on Sat. I did have a nice phone visit with Peg recently. I know that Isabelle and Stu would also want you to know that their thoughts are with you. I have sent them a message.
    Your folks, the Prestons and other couples were a tight knit military family all those many years ago in Germany. They were special times of good memories, that helped us like a family. Lincoln Park was a continuation of visits etc.
    As we now miss the person to person visits, Ron and I are so glad that we had those times over the years, of support and fun.
    This must be especially difficult for your family with the loss of both parents so close together.
