ANDERSON, Pearl Lavina

June 20, 1920 – May 13, 2017

Pearl Anderson passed away at the age of 96 years. She was born in Melville Sask. to Louise and Fred Anweiler. Following her parents death she was adopted at 6 years of age by her aunt Wilhelmina (Anweiler) and Henry Zeller. Pearl graduated in nursing from St Michael’s Hospital in Toronto in 1942. She married Frederick Snyder in May 1943 and together they graduated from Regina Bible College. They pastored Evangelical churches in Weyburn and Regina Sask. prior to moving to Calgary in 1950, where they served in the Salem Church and were privileged to lead the founding group of Centre Street Church (CSC). Pearl was predeceased by husband Fred in 1969. Pearl continued to be an active and cherished member of CSC.

Pearl is survived by her son Floyd (Barb) Snyder; daughters Lorna Louise and Helen (Paul) Hoff; four grandchildren, Jenny (Sean) Robinson, Karl (Chelsea) Snyder, Willis (Kristal) Hoff and Thomas Hoff; and three great grandchildren, Judah, Frances, and Jesse. Pearl and James Anderson, MD, were married in September 1997, friends from Toronto days and they were in their 20th year of marriage at the time of her passing. Pearl will be lovingly remembered by Jay and his family and Pearl’s family.

Memorial Services will be held at Centre Street Church (3900 2 St N.E.) on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

The family is most grateful for the exemplary and compassionate care provided by the AHS Palliative Care team and all the staff of the Rosedale Hospice; memorial tributes may be made directly to these services.
