The family announces the passing of a treasured loving mother, Caroline Amos who was born on April 1, 1939 in Morley, Alberta. Caroline held on with her strength and courage to be with her family this long. With great sadness Caroline peacefully went on her journey, to be with the creator and her late husband Wilfred Amos, on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at the Canmore Hospital at the age of 75 years.
Caroline’s life was a journey in which she began working at a rural ranch outside of the reserve at an early age. She attended residential school and participated in the Calgary Stampede Parade along side Rafter Six Ranch as well as other parades in Alberta. Caroline’s passion was rodeo which she attended with her late husband. She loved to help others and had a big heart from her humble beginnings, work and raising her children. She whole heartedly loved her grandchildren whom she always had laughs, jokes, smiles and hugs to give. She lived her life to the fullest and was brought up knowing the traditional ways of our culture.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Brenda (Jackson), Carver (Jackie), Victoria (Garrett), Dacster (Bobbi Jo), Evelina (Keon), Cornelia, Wilfred Jr. (Aaryn); special grandson Blaze Amos; as well as her precious 39 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren who were all special to her; her siblings Henry (Kathleen), Yvonne, Eddie (Connie), Delmar (Angie), Christine, Lydia (Larry), Vikki, Marilyn, Keon (Pamela); adopted daughters Margery Powderface, Marietta Dixon; adopted son Harvey Baptiste; brother in law’s Dandy (Greta) Amos, Richard (Violet) Amos; adopted sisters Lee (Barry) Sproule, Janet; close cousins Gilbert (Florene), Francis, Tommy Twoyoungmen, Conal Labelle; her good friend Margaret Dixon; aunties and uncles Horace Holloway, Sheila (George) Labelle, Ruby Snow, Eva and Mary Baptiste, Helen (Walter) Chiniquay; numerous relatives from Morley, Eden Valley and Big Horn.
