Carmine “Charlie” Ambrogiano, beloved husband of Elvira Ambrogiano (nee Marchegiani) of Calgary, AB, passed away suddenly on Monday, October 13, 2014 at the age of 79 years.
After immigrating to Canada with his family in 1950, he worked at the Hudson Bay Company for nineteen years before working as a butcher at the Calgary Co-op for twenty-two years. Charlie has enjoyed retirement since 1994, spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and extended family. He had a passion for sharing his Italian heritage with his children hoping to instil his values and traditions that he loved and cherished.
Charlie is survived by his wife Elvira; daughter and son-in-law Daniela and John Williams; sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Marianne Ambrogiano, and Garry and Stacy Ambrogiano; grandchildren, Evan, Rhys and Breana Williams, Mateo, Natalia and Nathan Ambrogiano; and his nieces, Dina and Dean Loria, and Lora and Mark Ashton. He was predeceased by his father Giovanni in 1995; mother Francesca in 2007; sister Anna in 1993; brothers, Mike in 1964 and Michele in 1939; and nephew Rick in 1983.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Ascension Catholic Church (1100 Berkshire Boulevard N.W.) on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
