ALLEN, Margaret (Peggy)
January 25, 1925 – December 24, 2011
Margaret Allen passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 24, 2011 at Agape Hospice at the age of 86 years.
Peggy was born MorayShire, Scotland and raised in Port Elgin, NB. She left home at 15 and went to Business College in PEI, afterwards she returned to Moncton, NB to work. In 1947 Peggy married Milton, the boy next door. Together they moved to Camrose in 1954 and Calgary in 1956. Peggy loved to garden and do almost anything outdoors. She loved crafts and was a long standing member of Chalmers Presbyterian and St. Giles Presbyterian Church.
Peggy is survived by her loving children, Graham (Lin Pearcy), Colleen (Graham) Wadsworth; grandchildren, Kyle (Bria) Cridland, Colleen Cridland; brother George (Jean) Simpson; and her sister Arlene Simpson. Grandma Peg loved her “special” great-grandchildren, Bria, Julia and Nate, children of Jim and Gloria Laurendeau.
Peggy was predeceased by her husband Milton; brother Jim; sister Catherine; and infant son Gregory.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
