We are sad to announce the passing of Rosie Alexander after a lengthy illness at the Canmore Hospital, on Friday November 24, 2006, at the age of 70 years.
She had many friends whom she loved. Rosie was born to the late Jimmy and Lucy Alexander in Sweetgrass, SK. She came from a large family, all of whom have passed away, with the most recent being her sister Wendy Alexander, whom she loved and grew up with in Little Washington. She grew up with family friends and relatives, who consist of the Jerry’s, Sitting Eagle, Saddle Backs, Calf Robe, Scalplock, Oakes, Catface, Cheynne, Calfchild, Big Child, Butterfly, Leathers, and to the people of Morley and Siksika whom were her friends.
She leaves behind her son,. Randy (Delores) Alexander and their children, Amberlee (Bobby), Garrett, Richard and Donte Alexander all of Siksika, AB; daughter, Ann Eleanor (Jarrod) Hunter and their children, Katrina, Candace, Evan, Zane, McCoy, and Memphis Cree Alexander-Hunter all of Wesley First Nation, Morley, AB. She is also survived by her special adopted children, Leandra Calf, Michelle Healy, and Jacqueline Bear; and by her step-sister, Roberta and (Orville) Pelletier. Rosie will be fondly remembered for her sense of humour, and her love for Christ.
Wake Services will take place at the residence of Ann and Jarrod Hunter, in Welsey First Nation, Morley, AB, on Tuesday, November 28, 2006 beginning at 2:00p.m. Additional Wake Services will take place at the Community Centre of Washington, Siksika Nation, AB on Wednesday, November 29. 2006 beginning at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Siksika, AB on Thursday, November 30, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Ian Gagné, Presider. Graveside Service to follow at the Little Washington Cemetery (Siksika Nation, AB). Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
