ROSS, Kayley

May 31, 1984 – Calgary, AB
September 8, 2013 – Calgary, AB

Kayley Erica Ross, 29, dearly loved daughter of Susan Blackwood and John Ross and older sister to Conor, passed away peacefully at Agape Hospice in Calgary from complications of Pelizaeus-Merzbacher Disease on September 8, 2013. She will be deeply missed by Nana Jill Quinton, godmother Emma Ross, godfather Gordon Awde, her aunts and uncles; Robert Blackwood (Heather), Gillian Ross MacCormack (Bryan), Vanessa Ross Pesle (Martin) and James C. Ross, and cousins; Nicholas, Jonathan, Christine, Julie, Frederique, and many close and dear friends. Kayley (affectionally called Tweedle) had an amazing twinkle in her eye, a major sense of humour, and she was a most gentle soul. Kayley is celebrated for her delight and love of impish adventure. She also enjoyed the companionship of the caring community at L’Arche Calgary Day Program where her passion for art and music was encouraged. The family sincerely thanks the wonderful staff at Agape Hospice for exquisite care and for making Kayley’s last days comfortable and peaceful.

Funeral services will be held at St. Barnabas Anglican Church (1407 – 7 Avenue NW, Calgary) on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Parking will be available at Hillhurst Community Hall and on 7 Avenue N.W. In recognition of Kayley’s love of the arts, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made by cheque payable to “St. Stephen’s Church” at 1121 – 14 Avenue SW, Calgary, AB, T2N OP3. Please note “Kayley Ross Memorial Fund” on the memo line. An art therapy scholarship will be established. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

  3. Bonnie Osoff-Bultz :

Dear Susan, John, Conor and family:
I am glad that you were all able to be with Kayley together. My thoughts were with you when I was away reviewing memories through the years as our children grew up…
Einstein said” there are only two ways to live your life…one as though nothing is a miracle….and the other is as though everything is a miracle.”
Kayley was a miracle herself and each of you in your own unique ways you created a loving enriched life for her to enjoy.
May Hashem bless her and keep her and cause his countenance to shine upon her and grant her peace.
    With love,
Bonnie, Matt, Alissa, Jamie, Max and Macy
