Bob Dunnet, beloved husband of the late Lutie Dunnet (2004), passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2010 at the age of 87 years.

Bob was born in Saskatoon, SK. He attended the University of Saskatchewan where he obtained degrees in Arts, Accounting and Law. Bob practiced law in Saskatchewan and Alberta. In Calgary, he had a lengthy career in the oil industry working at British American, Gulf and Petro-Canada, retiring in 1987. Bob enjoyed all sports and after retirement spent time traveling with Lutie.

Bob will be dearly missed by his daughter Tara and son-in-law Gary Kohinski of Winnipeg; his son Bruce and daughter-in-law Karen of Calgary and his grandchildren Sarah and Marshall.

Candace beloved daughter of Rhonda Starlight, passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2010 at the age of 24 years.

She is survived by her partner Ronnie Big Plume, brothers Joshua, Justin, Robert Jr., DJ Heavenfire (Karly); sister Celeste (Joe), grandpa Victor Starlight, nieces and nephews Aaleah, Dennis, Bear, Aurora, Royce, Joan, Uncle Glen (Mary) aunties Shelley (Bruce), Leslie, Janice, the Starlights, Frasers, Running Rabbits, Creightons, Runners, Onespots, Dodginghorses, Big Crows, Big Plumes and numerous relatives from Tsuu T’ina, Eden Valley, Morley, Siksika and Kainai. We apologize for anyone we missed during this sad time.

Candace was predeceased by her grandmother Eleanor Starlight, uncles Victor Starlight Jr. and Sounder Runner, aunt Mabel Francis, grandparents Edna Dixon and Peter Poucette, nephew Tyrese Starlight, and her dad Robert Noel.

Candace had a special gift about her, and attracted all kids whether they were nieces or nephews, they all called her auntie Candace. She had a special love for her godson Dennis Starlight.

Michael “Mike” Benedict beloved son of Dean and Marian passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2010.

Santo Esposito beloved husband, of Annette Esposito of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at the age of 64 years.

Santo was born in Marigliano, Naples, Italy and came to Canada in 1967. He was a pioneer in the wheel repair industry, and owned and operated Alberta Wheel Repair. Santo’s greatest joy was his children and grandchildren.

Santo is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Annette, two daughters and sons-in-law Anna Esposito and Paul Alexander, Paula and Curtis Columpsi, and son Salvatore Esposito. He was a much loved grandfather to his four grandchildren Emma and Grace Alexander, Nathen and Quintin Columpsi. Santo is also survived by three sisters and two brothers-in-law Raffaela and Gregorio Grillone, Josephine Castiello, Filomena and Jim DeGroot, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Santo will be greatly missed and will be forever in our hearts.
Annette and family wish to extend a very grateful thank you to all the dedicated and compassionate caregivers of unit 36 at the Foothills Medical Center.

Robert E. Cook of Calgary passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at the age of 86 years.

Educated in Alberta and as a Professional Engineer of Alberta and Ontario, Bob worked in the chemical and machinery industries throughout Canada developing an intense appreciation of Canada and Canadians. He was a life member of The Engineering Institute and The Canadian Professional Sales Association, as well as an executive of The American Society of Quality Control – Calgary section. With his travels grew a great love of nature and the outdoors, and his active involvement in Skrastins Outdoor Club, Bow Waters Canoe Club, Calgary Field Naturalists Society, Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society and Nature Conservancy of Canada and Fish Creek Provincial Park.

Bob will be dearly missed by his beloved wife Eleanor (Wyman) and daughter Sharon and spouse Ken, son Bruce and spouse Susan, all of Toronto; dear brother of Jean Murray of Calgary.

Bob was a simple man who lived an uncomplicated life. He loved outings, festivals and the Stampede. Bob’s passions included fixing bikes and square dancing.

He is survived by his brother, Don; nieces, Donna (Jim) Pass and Marianne Shaw; and great niece and nephew, Andrea and Philip. Thanks to Dr. Blakey, paramedics, PLC emergency and treatment room, hematology MTU and nurse Esther. Special thanks to Jack, Jim and Murray who helped Bob live a happy independent life.

James “Jim” Gerard McKendry beloved husband, father, brother and uncle, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, after living with lung cancer for the past year and a half, on Friday, October 29, 2010 at the age of 73 years.

Born and raised in Calgary, Jim graduated with a B.Sc. (Civil Engineering) in 1960 from the University of Alberta. A life-long member of APEGGA, Jim began his career at Consolidated Concrete in 1962, becoming a general manager in 1976. In 1981, he became a vice president and held various executive roles until he retired in 1999 from Lehigh Inland. Jim had a passion for the outdoors and his activities included hiking, cycling, cross-country skiing and running. The beauty of nature inspired his photography and music and books fuelled his soul. Jim gave back to his community in his retirement years, building homes for Habitat for Humanity. His family will always be grateful for his dry sense of humour, wisdom, humility, generosity, dignity and unselfishness.

Jim leaves to mourn Lorraine, his wife of forty-four years, and his children, Virginia (William), Michelle (Ron), Rachael and Brian (Kristin), brother Bob (Renate), as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Mary; sisters, Mary and Isobel; and brothers, John and Brian.

John Everson “Jack” passed away peacefully on Friday, October 29, 2010 at the age of 81 years.

Jack was born on September 21, 1929 near Dewberry, AB. He lived on the family farm until 1940 when his family moved to Calgary. He lived in Ogden and started dating the love of his life, Edith Moss, at the tender age of sixteen. Jack and Edith were married on June 1, 1951. Jack’s love for the country never left him and in 1972 he moved his family to the Red Deer Lake area. He took great pride in maintaining his acreage. That and the love and care he had for his family and friends were his passions.

Jack was a successful landman mostly with Canadian Export Gas & Oil, in its various incarnations, for thirty-four years.

Jack was predeceased by his wife, Edith, parents Bert and Bella, sister Pat and brother Brian. He is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Dave Jacobus and Sandy and DeVery Yarborough; grandchildren, Tracy (Jesse) Oman, Derek (Stacy) Jacobus, and Winter Yarborough; as well as great-granddaughter, Rylie Jacobus.
