Arthur Ayoungman Jr. beloved husband of Louise Minde (Toto) of Strathmore, passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2008 at the age of 57 years.
Arthur was born at Siksika Nation and has resided there most of his life. He attended schools at Siksika, Gleichen, Strathmore and graduated from Western Canada HS Calgary. He obtained a Heavy Equipment Operator Certificate from Keyano College. He had been a heavy equipment owner/operator and a school bus driver. He grew up on a farm and ranch and thus enjoyed horse races, chuckwagon races and rodeo. Arthur lived life to the fullest and participated in and supported many sports and cultural activities e.g. curling, hockey, coaching broom ball, playing hand games, powwows, bingo and dancing. He was a drummer with the band,” The Sundogs”. Arthur was a tipi owner at the Calgary Stampede, and during the past several years participated daily in the Grandstand Evening Performance to greet people from all over the world. He made his Cursillo in 1993. He accepted requests to do invocations in the Blackfoot language at many events. Arthur was a friend to people from all walks of life and he was respectful to everyone. He will be remembered for his sense of humour and being a kind, humble and compassionate man.
Arthur is survived by his loving wife Louise, one son Arthur III (Mory and Allyssa), three daughters Melodie (Steve), Dawn and Susanne and their mother Karen. Step children include TJ, Christian, Bobby, Kenny, Cheyenna, Marty, Gordie and Reah. Grandchildren, Deannette, Kristian, Donovan, Aprilrose, Heston, Dradon, Kaidence and Honey, as well as numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. His mother Nora, two brothers Matthew (Georgina), Teddy (Lucy); five sisters, Rosella Ayoungman, Elaine (Rod) Clifton, Vivian (Phil) Beaumont, Angeline Ayoungman and Tina Ayoungman. Adopted brothers and sisters: Ed Wolfchild, Jerry, Delphine and Judy Blackhorse, Stan and Gloria Cowley, Muriel McArthur, Dolly and Peter Doenz, Floyd Olds. Arthur is also survived by the Waterchief, McMaster, Blackhorse, Peacemaker, Old Woman, Backfat, Weasel Child, Gladstone, and Sinclair families as well as other extended family members. He was predeceased by his father Rev. Arthur Ayoungman Sr. and by two brothers, Randy and Jonathan, adopted sister Violet (Suncalf) Spotted Eagle.

Robert John Bradley passed away quietly at Bow Crest Care Centre in Calgary on Sunday, September 28, 2008 at the age of 79 years.
Robert was born June 13, 1929 and spent much of his time in the Bergen, Sundre area.
Robert is survived by two sisters, Verna and Stella and their respective husbands and children. He was predeceased by his parents, Gordon and Stella Bradley; two brothers, Norman and Mervin; and a sister, Marjorie.

Andrew (Drew) Benjamin Clark, beloved son of Jordan and Kari Clark of Calgary, passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2008 at the age of one year.
Born in Calgary, Drew was our little ray of sunshine. He warmed the hearts of all who knew him, and always had a smile for everyone. He brought so much joy and laughter to our home and watching him with his big brother, Peyton, will provide memories forever cherished. His favourite person was undoubtedly Peyton and their bond will be irreplaceable. Peyton will miss his favourite little sidekick. Drew had an irresistible charm and he quickly befriended all those who cared for him the last four months. He opened our eyes to so much, teaching us how to live and understand God’s special love for his children. We will miss you Drew.

Anna Evelyn Hedderick of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at the age of 96 years.
Anna was born in Calgary and resided here for her entire life. She worked at Ashdown Hardware and The Foundation Company as a Comptometer Operator. She was married in Calgary to John Hedderick and raised two sons. Anna enjoyed playing cards, knitting and needle point. She was also fortunate enough to travel with her husband to Hawaii several times. She loved to go to Stampede Park to watch the horses’ race.
Anna is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Edie of Calgary, and Brian and Shirlee of Phoenix, AZ; two grandchildren, Dr. Kathy (Kevin) Townsend of Brisbane, Australia, and Glenn (Sara) Hedderick of Calgary; four great grandchildren, Kimberley and Kaitlyn Townsend, and Noah and Sofia Hedderick. Anna was predeceased by her husband John Hedderick on April 30, 1998.

Marvella Nadine Wesley was called home by our Creator on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at the age of 35 years.
It is with great sadness that we heard about Marvella’s passing; the family were very shocked to hear of her death, although we never met or knew her personally. Her biological parents knew their daughter and sister was in Calgary for medical reasons.
Marvella will be missed by her biological parents Bill and Annie Wesley, of Morley, AB; her brothers, Gabriel and Darrol (Lorraine); her sisters, Denise (Conrad), Samantha (Harrum), Bernadine (Ace), Cynthia and Crystalian Wesley; seventeen nephews, 16 nieces; three great-nephews, and two great-nieces; maternal grand-mother Beatrice Poucette; Paternal grandparents, Cassie Lefthand and Nora Stevens; five aunts and two uncles; as well as numerous cousins. Marvella belongs to a big family on both sides. She was predeceased by one sister Roxanne in 1969, one brother Leslie in 1977 and a niece Floydena in 1999, two nephews Maverick in 1989, and Hendrick in 1995.

James Alexander Reid beloved husband of Margaret Reid of Calgary, passed away on September 26, 2008 at the age of 88 years.
James was born on August 12, 1920 in Winnipeg, MB. Jim grew up in Saskatoon and later moved to Vancouver in his late teens. He attended UBC graduating in 1944 with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. He later returned to the University of Alberta completing, a Bachelor of Education. Jim enjoyed a long and successful career as a high school mathematics teacher. He taught in Calgary at Western Canada High and Sir Winston Churchill High Schools. Jim’s teaching expertise was instrumental for the success of many students. His greatest passion was being with his family, enjoying summer months at Mabel Lake in British Columbia. He made many lasting friendships and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
James is survived by his loving wife, Margaret; children, Barbara (David) Campbell, James, Eleanor (Bill) Messer; daughter-in-law Shirley; eleven grandchildren; sister June Woodhouse; and one niece Wendy Durham. James was predeceased by his parents, James and Jean Reid

Rolly Fontaine, beloved husband of Frances (nee Mullen) Fontaine of Calgary passed away on September 28, 2008 at the age of 82 years.
Rolly was born in Kimberley, BC to Omer and Ettiennette (Toni) Fontaine. Rolly worked his entire career as an electrician with Cominco in Kimberley and Pine Point, NT. He enjoyed golfing, traveling, wine making, family time, wood working and his adored puppy, Buttons.
