It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Evelyn passed away peacefully the morning of February 27 with her loving family at her side. Evelyn was born on the family farm near Deloraine, MB, and moved to Calgary to marry Herb on September 12, 1953. This is where they made their home and raised their three children. Her home was always the hub of family gatherings and her greatest joy was to be a homemaker and to be able to stay home and raise her children and look after her grandchildren. We will all fondly remember the good times we had celebrating various occasions and life events. Evelyn was a Girl Guide leader for over twenty years. She enjoyed curling, golfing, bowling and was always very athletic. Evelyn attended many seasons of Theatre Calgary and Stage West. Travel was a big part of her life, with trips to Europe, a canal trip in England, several cruises, Hong Kong, Thailand, Mexico, Hawaii and last June she was able to enjoy an Alaskan cruise with family and friends. Some of Evelyn’s fondest trips were those with her grandchildren. Evelyn will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her as a sweet, gentle lady and for her wonderful smile.

The family wishes to thank her caregiver Susan Santos who became her special friend and companion during the past year and a half and the staff at the Agape Hospice for the wonderful care Evelyn received the past two months.

As well as her loving husband Herb, Evelyn will be sadly missed by her two daughters and son-in-law, Sharon and Glen Chenier of Calgary and Carol Berrington of Calgary; son and daughter-in-law, Allan and Kelly Corbett of Cochrane; three grandchildren, Jessie and Julie Berrington and Clayton Corbett.
