Telfer Faull, of Calgary, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at the age of 86 years.

Telfer was born at Beacon, Cornwall, England on January 12, 1920. During the War he served in the Royal Engineers in the 8th Army from 1940 to 1946, in the Western Desert, in Italy and finally in France and Germany. In 1957 Telfer moved to Calgary where he became employed in the accounting department of Dominion Bridge Co. Ltd., staying there until his retirement in November of 1984. He spent three years with the company in Edmonton from 1960 to 1963. On his return to Calgary he joined the choir of the Riverview United Church and was a member up until 1998. For some years he was also the Church Treasurer. In recent years he had been a volunteer in the grand-parenting program at Windsor Park Elementary School where he helped students with their Math.

Telfer will be lovingly remembered by his son and daughter-in-law Geoff and Barb of Lloydminster, AB; daughter Val and grandsons Michael and Steven, all of Calgary; and granddaughter Nicole of Lloydminster, AB. He is also survived by his brother Claude (Stella) of Redruth, England; brother-in-law Vivian of St. Ives, England; nephew Julian (Beverley) of Redruth, England; niece Elizabeth (Mike) of Innisfil, ON; and cousin Joan of Sale, England. Telfer was predeceased by his loving wife Joan of fifty-two years in 2003.

Vance Bradley Zavisha, beloved son of Brad and Lisa Zavisha of Calgary, was silently born on Thursday, September 28, 2006.

Besides his parents, Vance Bradley is survived by his two sisters, Jordan and Brooklyn Zavisha; his grandparents, Brad and Ann Zavisha, Harold and Carmella MacLellan; and his Uncle Cory MacLellan.

Even though our time with you was short, these precious moments we spent together will remain with us forever. From that first moment we held you and looked upon you, we knew we were blessed, as God had provided us with an angel who will watch over us. During this precious time we held you and before letting you go we recited those prayers with you, the same ones you heard us share every night with your sisters. Tataryn, Michael

Michael passed away peacefully at the Agape Hospice on Sept 29, 2006 with his beloved wife Sylvia at his side, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer since last June.

Michael was born on April 20, 1946 in Swan Plain, SK. After graduation, Michael moved to Winnipeg for a year and a half. He then moved to Regina in 1967 where he worked for Ipsco Steel until moving to Calgary in November 1974. In April 1975, Michael started with Prudential Steel, and retired in April 2005 after 30 years of employment.

Michael will be lovingly remembered by Sylvia, his soulmate and wife of 36 years; and his son, and greatest pride, Jeff (Gina) and an angel on the way. He will also be missed by his grandmother Sophie; his parents John and Mary; sister Cynthia (Ernie); brothers Steve, and Kelvin (Laura); nieces Delaney, Brittney, Amanda, Michelle (Allan); and great niece Madeline. Michael will also be remembered by Aunts, Uncles, and friends, and especially by his beloved pet Missy.

Gwen Hopkins, beloved wife of the late Bernard Hopkins, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on September 28, 2006 at the age of 89 years.

Roland (Rolly) Albert Morin of Calgary passed away on Friday, September 29, 2006 at the age of 93 years.

Roland was born on July 13, 1913 in Joliette, QC and was raised in Timmins, ON. The family moved to Calgary in the 1950’s. Roland had worked for Calgary Waterworks, retiring in 1978. Roland had been a regular attendee at the Kirby Centre’s dances.

Roland is survived by his sons, Bruce and Anna, Charles and Jo-Ann, all of Calgary; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother Ben Morin of Kitchener, ON.

Fritzler, Bradley (Brad) Thomas

Bradley (Brad) Thomas Fritzler of Calgary passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2006 at the age of 33 years, as a result of a motor vehicle accident.

Brad was born on February 10, 1973 in Calgary. In 1979 the family moved to Saskatoon where Brad attended River Heights Elementary School and Marion Graham Collegiate. Subsequently the family moved to North Delta, BC where Brad completed High School. In 1993 he moved to Calgary and later worked in the oil patch in Drayton Valley. In 2003 Brad returned to Calgary where he resided until his death. He was an avid billiards player and had belonged to a pool league.

Brad will be dearly missed by his loving children Natasha age 10 and Troy age 7, the children’s mother Lisa Fritzler, all of Drayton Valley; parents Bev and Bob Fritzler; sister Heather Fritzler; and special friend Laura Vanderkracht all of Calgary. He is also survived by an aunt and two uncles, Shirley and Merv Rockel of Rocky Mountain House, AB and Lyle Gray of Kelowna, BC; cousins, Lyle (Jenn) Greer, Steve (Cindy) Greer, Wendy (Mark) Lund, Kathy Rockel and their families; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Brad was predeceased by his grandparents, Anne and Gus Fritzler, Elsie and Tom West; and aunt Carolyn Gray.

Wohlgemuth, Harry

Harry Wohlgemuth of Calgary, passed away on Wednesday September 27, 2006 at the age of 83 years.

Born on March 11, 1923 in Neville, SK, Harry moved to Calgary in the early 1940’s. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy, and served in the South Pacific in WWII. Harry owned and operated his own business in the automotive industry for forty-two years.

Harry will be remembered by his son and daughter-in-law Rick and Sheila; son and daughter-in-law Tom and Bernice; his two grandchildren, Jodean (Wayne Ottenbreit) and Allan (Cora); and eight great-grandchildren. Harry was predeceased by his loving wife, of forty-nine years, Pearl; his four brothers and one sister.

With mixed emotions we announce the peaceful passing of Blanche Nicolson on Friday, September 22, 2006 at Bethany Harvest Hills after a long struggle with dementia.

Blanche was born in Regina, moved to Calgary as a child and lived here the rest of her life. She enjoyed working for Loram International and her many volunteer positions.

Blanche will be remembered by her family, Paddy (Terry) Farhall, Virginia (Bill) Crawford, and Dick (Anita) Nicolson; six grandchildren, Leanne (Stephen) Dickinson, Grant Farhall, Shauna (George) Crawford, Michelle (David) Johnston, Darren (Lori) Crawford, and Matthew (Crystal) Crawford; as well as four great grandchildren, Nicole Dickinson, Justine and Holly Dyker (Crawford) and Blane Johnston. Blanche is also survived by her brother Richard (Jean) Bingley and family. Blanche was predeceased by her husband John in 1968.

Blanche attended Christ Church in Elbow Park where a family service was held on Tuesday, September 26. 2006. Interment at Queen’s Park Cemetery. RoseMarie was born March 23, 1924 in Empress, AB. She lived in Ottawa for many years before retiring to Calgary to be closer to her family.

RoseMarie is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Rita and Ed McKeegan and Loraine and David Strattford; one grandchild, Blake (Jenny) McKeegan; two great-grandchildren, Kiernan and Riohlan; one brother Max as well as her in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Frank, seven brothers; one sister; her parents and her long time companion, Weir Webber.

Sumner, Eileen

Eileen Sumner of Calgary passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, September 28, 2006 following a courageous battle with lengthy illnesses at the age of 79 years.

Eileen was born on September 18, 1927 in Calgary, AB. She grew up on the North Hill and graduated from Crescent Heights High School. After graduation Eileen became a certified comptometer operator who enjoyed her years of employment with United Grain Growers and Royalite Oil. In 1955, she married James (Jack) Sumner and together they operated Sumner Electric for many years. In 1975 she went to work at the University of Calgary in the accounts payable department where she remained until her retirement in 1981. For many years Eileen was an active member in the Order of the Eastern Star. Many will remember Eileen for the beautiful knitted or crocheted masterpieces she lovingly created. Gardening was one of Eileen’s favourite past times, as well as her love for a scenic drive on a nice day.

Eileen will be greatly missed by her children, Janice Sumner of Strathmore and James (Sarah) Sumner of Calgary; her treasured grandchildren, Spencer and Jessica; her sister Evalyn Milley of Largo, FL; her cousin Helen Collins of Calgary; numerous nieces and nephews and her special friends, Barb Leinweber and Stan Goodman.
