Marshall, Frederick Alexander

Frederick (Fred) Alexander Marshall passed away peacefully at the Peter Lougheed Centre with his daughter Nancy by his side on Monday, November 21, 2005, at the age of 89 years.

Fred was born in Montreal, QC on January 9, 1916. Shortly after retiring he moved with his wife Hermine to Alberta in 1981. In spite of many health challenges over recent years, Fred always wanted to live life to the fullest. He enjoyed his many friends at the Vista View Apartments in Dalhousie.

Fred will be forever loved and missed by his daughter Nancy; and his son Brian. He is also survived by a special daughter-in-law Monique; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Fred was predeceased by his wife Hermine; and his eldest son Frederick.

Friends are invited to celebrate Fred’s Life on Saturday, December 10, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in the “Coffee Room” of the Vista View Apartments, (5204 Dalton Drive N.W. Calgary.) Special thanks to Dr. Paul Petrasek and the staff of Unit 53 whose care and compassion will always be remembered.

Williams, Margaret Anne

Margaret Anne Williams, beloved wife of Benny, of Calgary, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2005 after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 73 years.

Besides her loving husband Quentin (Benny), Margaret is survived by her six children, Michael Champagne (Barb), Linda Williams, Rod Williams (Dee), Candise Vibert (Lance), Tom Williams (Ruth), and Sheri Hollifield (Sean); as well as her daughter-in-law Laurie Champagne; and numerous grandchildren. She is also survived by Benny’s children. Margaret was predeceased by her son Rene in August, 2002.

Valerie Ann Warchola (nee Babington), beloved wife of Roman of Calgary, passed away peacefully surrounded by her immediate family at home on Wednesday, November 30, 2005 at the age of 63 years.

Valerie fought a courageous four-year battle with cancer, never allowing the disease to get the best of her and always lived life to the fullest. She was always very cheerful and kind, no matter what the circumstances, brightening the lives of everyone around her. She was a warm and loving person who will be dearly missed. Valerie was born in Altrincham, England on November 19, 1942. She immigrated to Canada in May 1968 where she met her husband and started her own family.

Besides her loving husband, Valerie is survived by her daughter Wendy Eileen Warchola; and her son Robert Michael Warchola. She was predeceased by her son Bradley James Warchola; and her parents, Herbert and Daisy Babington (Altrincham, England).

Olson, Vivian Ilene

Vivian Ilene Olson (nee Craig), beloved wife of fifty-three years to Ron Olson, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2005 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

Vivian was born in Regina, SK on May 8, 1931 to Archie and Irene Craig and ran the family home for many years after her mother became ill with Huntington’s Disease. She moved to Lethbridge, AB in 1948 where she met and married Ron Olson in 1952. Their children were all born in Lethbridge and the family moved to Calgary in 1964 for career opportunities. Vivian was a wonderful homemaker, active volunteer and also worked for many years at Scotiabank Braeside until her retirement. Ron and Vivian have been long-time members of Willow Park Golf & Country Club where they played many games and made lifetime friendships. Golf became a catalyst for their extensive travel with family and friends and since their retirement they have spent winters in Phoenix. Vivian also enjoyed games of all kinds including regular bridge nights and the daily crossword puzzle. Her creative side was seen in her painting, ceramics and sewing.

Besides her husband, Vivian is also survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Jim Rainsford and Jayne and Paul Brown; her adored grandchildren, Geoff, Kerry, Kamryn, and Hallie; her daughter-in-law Jan Kuprowsky; and her siblings Marilyn Belsher, Randy Craig and Guy Craig. Vivian will also be missed by her many friends, the Olson in-laws, neighbours and relatives. Vivian was predeceased by her son Tim Olson in 1996; her sister Patricia Chow; and infant son Terry.

It is with deepest regret that we announce the passing of Mary Louise Elliott of Calgary on Monday, November 28, 2005 at the age of 76 years.

Lou enjoyed volunteer work with Down’s Syndrome children before her twenty-six year career with Canadian National Railways, retiring in 1994. She enjoyed traveling and will be fondly remembered for her apple pies and butter tarts.

Lou is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Patricia and Tom Arnett; grandchildren Carey, Stephen and Jamie Arnett, Melynda (Scott) Winters and Megan Elliott; great grandchildren Keigan and Payton Winters; ex-husband James Elliott; daughter-in-law Cris Elliott and numerous friends and relatives. Lou was predeceased by her parents Gustaaf and Irma Cottenie; brothers Albert and Andrew and sons Roderick and Richard.

Audrey Anne Wilson of Calgary passed away on Monday, November 28, 2005, after a brief battle with cancer, at the age of 74 years.

Anne was born on October 12, 1931 in Calgary and she volunteered at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre and the Glendale Elementary School.

Anne is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Cameron and Dawn Wilson of Calgary, and Ian and Cathie Wilson of Vancouver, BC; daughter Donna Bond; and her six grandchildren, Travis and Mackenzie Wilson, Takara and Ryan Bond, all of Calgary, Brandon and Matthew Wilson of Vancouver. Anne was predeceased by her husband David Wilson.

Agatha Pelchat of Calgary left us to join her soul mate Don on Saturday, November 26, 2005 after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 59 years.

Agatha was born in the Netherlands on April 28, 1946. She immigrated to Powell River, BC, moving onto Sardis, BC and settled in Calgary at the age of twenty-one. She had many passions in her life, which included, Inn from the Cold, Parent Patrol, quilting, and curling, as well as being part of the Food Brokerage business for the past thirty years. Agatha was a great contributor to a number of charities through afternoon Bingo and evening Casino adventures. However above all else Agatha loved her family.

Agatha is survived by Nick and Judy Schreurs of Williams Lake; Joanne Chung of Vancouver; Anne and Larry Daw of Edmonton; Marion Atwell and Robert Deragon of Calgary; Peter and Julie Schreurs of Calgary; Monica and Peter Glomlein of Prince George; Derek and Lynn Schreurs of Kamloops; Robert and Maureena Schreurs of Greendale; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all of her co-workers past and present; as well as all of those who have had the honour and privilege to have known and loved her. Agatha was predeceased by her brother Bill; father Nick; birth mother Catharina; and recently departed mother Riet (Maria).
