On Saturday, February 26, 2005 at Calgary at 92 years. Loving mother of Joan Karlowsky of Calgary, dear mother-in-law of Wayne, and loving grandmother to granddaughter Jamie and grandson Andrew.
Nancy was born in Winnipeg, MB, to Helen and Ernie Bisset. She had an idyllic childhood along with younger brother Jack. From a young age she loved reading and writing, she published her first story in the local paper at age eleven. Nancy began her career in the 1930’s as a Newspaper Reporter for the Winnipeg Free Press. During the Second World War, she joined the CWAC stationed in Calgary where she worked in Public Relations. During the war Sergeant Bisset married Sergeant Alexander Gardner (Scotty) Kennedy. Nancy finished her stint in the Army, moved back to Winnipeg where she rejoined the Free Press with her own column. Life in Winnipeg with Scotty, local Horse Owner and Businessman, included bridge games, Junior League, family and many friendships. As a widow, Nancy moved to Vancouver to be with her family and ten years ago everyone moved to Calgary. Nancy’s presence contributed greatly to her family. A lifelong reader, with an interest in current events, Nancy always kept everyone up to date on world and local events. Her sense of humour and love of animals will long be remembered by those who knew her.

Carole Dornstauder, beloved wife of Dennis Dornstauder of Irricana, AB, passed away on Friday, February 25, 2005 at the age of 64 years.
Carole was born on May 24, 1940 in Paradise Hill, SK. Carole and Dennis were married on December 29, 1958. She has resided in Irricana since 1975 and was involved in the community. Carole enjoyed art and displayed this through the many crafts that adorned her and many friends’ homes. She was never afraid to try new things. She also loved music and Karaoke.
Besides her loving husband, Carole is remembered by a son and daughter-in-law, Wade and Megan Dornstauder of Irricana; a special daughter-in-law Karen Decoste of Porter Lake, NS; two daughters and a son-in-law, Cheryl and Dan Melody, and Kimberly Dornstauder, all of Airdrie; and five grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters and a brother-in-law, Fay and Leo Colliou of St. Paul, AB, and Wanda Huber of Wetaskiwin, AB; and a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Alana of Strathmore, AB. Carole was predeceased by a son Lonnie in 1999 and her parents Jack and Valma Huber.

Cheryl went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 16, 2005, in Vancouver, BC at the age of 49 years.
Cheryl was blessed with a beautiful voice, enjoyed singing and listening to music, especially George Strait. Cheryl was a warm, loving mother, also a very humorous and easy-going person. She got along with all those she met, easily made friends, laughing, joking and always had a smile for everyone. Cheryl was born on Siksika Nation, attending Carsland School. She had a lot of faith in her church and later attended on the Lamanite Placement Program, living in Welling, AB. She attended the Native Education Center in Vancouver, BC and graduated as a Wellness Counsellor in 1994. Cheryl resided in New Westminster, BC for numerous years.
Cheryl was the only daughter of Ernest Yellowfly and the late Celina Yellowfly. She was very close and dedicated to her brothers. Cheryl leaves behind her four cherished children, Shawn (Chasity), Chantelle (Reuben), Bryon, and Bryce Bull; nine adorable grandchildren, Julian, Brandon, Rolanda, Brett, Justin, Reuben Jr., Kelly, Dwayne and Roland; brothers, Barry (Joella), Alvin (Delia), Trent (Marion), Curtis, and Eddy (Karen); a sister-in-law, Michelle Yellowfly; numerous nieces, and nephews and relations from Siksika Nation and Blood Nation. She is also survived by her step-father, Bill Canning of BC; aunts, Cynthia Healy, Millie Little Light, Veronica Smith, Josephine Soop, Virginia (Allan) Medicine Traveller; uncles, Tom (Marie), Clifford (Melvina), Harold (Jean) and Stan Healy, Kenneth, Art, Percy, Noel Yellowfly and many friends in the Lower Mainland area. Laurie Marion Hawes of Calgary passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2005 after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 51 years.
Laurie was born in Kindersley, SK, on December 12, 1953. She attended school in Kindersley and moved to Saskatoon, SK with her family in 1970. After Laurie graduated from high school she went to Ontario and then settled in Calgary. Laurie entered the film industry as a production accountant and was well respected in the industry.

MANCANTELLI – Zabel Elvira Mancantelli (nee Dervishian) passed away suddenly in Calgary on Sunday, February 27, 2005 in her 95th year, with her daughter Ann and her son-in-law John by her side.
She was born in Constantinople, of Armenian descent. Belle immigrated to Canada with her mother and sister in 1930 following the death of her grandfather, Dr. Haig Baronig Matteossian, a respected physician in Constantinople. In 1934 she married Robert Mancantelli in Toronto. They moved to northern Ontario where her husband began a career as a Metallurgical Engineer working across the Canadian Shield from Kirkland Lake in eastern Ontario to Eldorado in northern Saskatchewan. They lived in fifteen different communities and made many life-long friends. Belle took an active interest in her church. She golfed until her 80th birthday and was an ardent bridge player. She left her beloved Haileybury, Ontario in 1998 to be with her son and his family in Regina. Later she continued west to be with her Calgary relatives. Her family wishes to express their thanks to Belle’s friends at St. Stephen’s Church and at Royal Park Retirement Residence for their friendship over the past three years.
Belle was predeceased by her husband in 1983. She is survived by her daughter Ann (John) Brownlee of Calgary, her daughter Susan Mancantelli of Haileybury, Ontario and her son Rev. John (Clara) Mancantelli of Billings, Montana. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren in whose lives she took such great delight.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church (1121 – 14th Avenue S.W.) on Thursday, March 3, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Brian E. Pearson, officiating.

Allan (Al) Frederick Goodridge, beloved husband of Muriel, of Calgary passed away on Saturday, February 26, 2005 at the age of 80 years.
Al served in the navy during World War II and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #264.

Francesco was called into the arms of the Lord on Sunday, February 27, 2005 surrounded by his loving family. He was a caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend.
Francesco Marasco immigrated to Canada from San Giovanni In Fiore, Cosenza, Italy, with a dream for a better life. He was a visionary. His commitment was unwavering and he believed everything was possible. Francesco greeted each day with a desire to excel. Through perseverance he had the inner strength to follow his dreams. His optimistic outlook transformed into great success. Balancing family and business responsibilities was a priority for him. Francesco’s life exemplified excellence, enthusiasm, responsibility, respect and commitment.
He will be lovingly remembered by his spouse, Caterina; his children and their spouses, Maria and Ray Godin, Sam and Rose Marasco, Frank Jr. and Linda Marasco, Sarina and Gino Mangone, Josie and Frank Di Giacomo; eighteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous relatives in Canada, Italy and around the world.
